The night rolled over the community like a blanket being thrown over top of a mattress. The stars twinkled in the sky and a light breeze blew through the trees surrounding the community. A lone figure was walking through the trees. He was tall and very muscular wearing a pair of jeans, boots, and a black button up shirt with the first few buttons open exposing his rock hard chest. His brown eyes surveyed the land in front of him.
He really didn't like this place. It was too closed in for his liking and the fact that werewolves lived here alongside them didn't help either. Alexander hated werewolves with a passion. He thought they should all be strung up and skinned while they still had breath in their lungs.
His wife had been the same way until recently. Miranda had hunted werewolves with him ever since the day their children were killed by the beasts. But now she had just wanted to settle down again. She had wanted a home again and his love for her had made him cave. It wasn't until after they were settled in that they learned that they lived alongside the flea bitten mongrels. He had said that they were moving but Miranda had told him that they were staying. He couldn't say no to her so they had stayed. Soon he became Council Elder for the other vampires who lived there since he was among the oldest there.
He just needed to get out of the house though which was why he was strolling in the woods. He had always loved the openness of it and the trees. He loved the smell of soil and leaves and bark. But his nose picked up a different scent now. One that made him raise his lips in a snarl as his fangs grew out slowly. Damned dogs.

Kaiden was going a little stir crazy. He wanted to run he wanted to feel the wind in his fur again. He thought a walk through the woods would help him but it wasn't working. It just wasn't the same.
His hands were shoved into the pockets of his jeans as he wandered through the trees. He wore a skin tight t shirt and that was it, part of him had wished he brought his jacket but that didn't really matter. He knew these woods like the back of his hand by now and he knew the more secluded routes. But on his way back home he caught the scent of someone...and something.
A vampire out here? Weren't they supposed to be held up in a mansion somewhere? Wait..he knew that scent. It was the high and mighty one himself. He couldn't help but smirk as he started to head towards him. They had been introduced already from the clashes had already been in. Not to mention the Community was too small not to know everyone..for the most part. At the very least he knew all the wolves and the vampires.

Alexander walked along, his fangs still out as the wolf's sent got closer and closer. He recognized it alright. It was that damned Alpha. He had been introduced to him right after he had moved here and Alexander had wanted nothing more than to rip his heart out. He was the definition of arrogant and cocky werewolf. The vampire kept his eyes out and his ears open for the mutt. He knew he was heading this way as the scent got closer.
He had one hand in his pocket of his jeans as he walked. The moon was only a sliver in the sky as it shone through the leaves of the trees as they moved with the breeze that had picked up again. Alexander's eyes narrowed as he picked up the figure of the Alpha walking towards him. What the hell did he want? Alex was trying to be good just for his wife. If she wasn't here he would have killed this dog already. But she wanted to stay here so he had been good. But right now wasn't the time to tick him off. The anniversary of his children's death was only a few days away and he was on edge. He wanted blood and if this wolf was dumb enough to push him he would have his blood on his hands very soon.

Kaiden felt like he had to push the man's buttons a little. Why let the vampire think that he could just stroll around like he owned the place? Hmph, the wolves always would be there to show them that they didn't run the show like they thought they did.
It wasn't too long before he caught up with Alex. "Nice night for a walk isn't it?" He smirked as he walked towards him but didn't stop walking. Perhaps he was being a little too forward. This could get ugly if he really got the vampire going. But then again it would be against the rules for the two of them to fight. Not to mention that it would be a bad example for the others.
Kaiden wasn't dumb enough to start a real fight, at least without a reason. So far there wasn't a reason to jump to just a harsh conclusion. He did have the hope though, the hope that the vampire would do something foolish.

Alexander narrowed his eyes as the wolf got closer. His scent surrounding the vampire. He almost gagged from the smell of it. He had always hated the smell of werewolves. To a vampire it was one of the worst smells there was. His body tensed as he heard him talk. All Alexander wanted to do right now was rip the damned dogs heart out of his chest. But he thought of Miranda and held himself back. He knew she would be upset. She was the only thing holding him back right now. Damn his love for that woman.
"What the hell do you want, mongrel?"
He almost lifted his lip in a snarl but held it back. Alexander knew the rules of the treaty. He knew he couldn't do anything drastic but if this dog kept pushing his buttons Alex would disregard the rules and kill this wolf.

"What do I want?" Kaiden still had his hands in his pockets as he looked turned around to watch Alex as he stepped backwards for the moment. "Just curious as to why a blood sucker is wandering the woods at night. Not really your turf now is it? Shouldn't you be clinging glasses with some stuck up snob?"
It wasn't like they came from the same style of crowd. It had always been this way. The vampires were in first class while the werewolves were in basement. And that was clear just from the word Alex called him.
Perhaps if they had both been human they could be friends. Maybe...

Alexander stopped walked and turned around to face Kaiden. That was the thing with werewolves. They always thought that vampires were all alike. That they were all rich and stuck up and snobbish. It was true that Alexander was rich but that just showed he was smart in what he invested in. He was no snob though. He glared at him. His muscles clenching ready for a fight but he held back.
"Just like a wolf to think we're all the same. Close minded, flea bitten, worm infested, dogs. I have just enough right to walk here just like you. Now leave while you can still walk."
He was angry now. Just being so close to this animal was more than he could do to hold himself back. Images of Matthew and Lucinda ran through his mind. When they were old enough Miranda and himself had talked about giving them the choice to be turned into a vampire so they could all be together forever. But they had been taken from them before their fifth and sixth birthdays. Alezander's fangs grew out in reparation for a fight.

Kaiden stopped at the vampire stopped. He smirked a bit as it seemed that he touched a nerve. That smirk turned into a scowl as soon as Alex started his rambling insults. Kaiden's shoulders grew tense as he suppressed a growl. He would have been content with playful chastizing but this vampire wasn't playing nice.
"Oh and vampires don't think werewolves aren't all the same? I've yet to meet a vampire that doesn't treat me like I belong on the ground cleaning their boots. And what makes you think you can stop me from walking? You corpses aren't as strong as you think you are."
The sight of Alexander's fangs brought a snarl to Kaiden that showed off his own canines a bit. If this vampire wanted a fight, he'd get one. It was breaking the rules but he wasn't going to back down to a challenge. Not from a wolf and especially not from a vampire.

"Cleaning our boots is too good for you, filthy animals. My opinion? You should all be exterminated. Humans exterminate pests that destroy their homes...why not vampires? But no some vampires are too soft to do that. Well, not me."
Alexander heard the growl and spotted the wolf's canine teeth growing out. This night just got more interesting. He knew he was going to get hell for this later especially from Miranda and he might spend a few nights on the couch but right now he didn't care. H was in a fighting mood and this pup was asking for it.
He clenched his fists and a growl resonated in his throat. It wasn't the throaty growl of a wolf. This growl was darker and seemed to house pure evil. His eyes grew dark and small black veins showed slightly under his skin around his eyes. He was determined to rip this pup to shreds or at least teach him a lesson. He knew better than to kill and Alpha. The whole damned pack would be after him if he did that and he knew the other vampires in the community probably wouldn't help him in fear of dying themselves.

Kaiden wasn't going to make the first move. If this was going to come to blows he was going to make it the vampire's fault. And while his shoulders bundled up in tense knots he was prepared to lunge. He growled again but he wasn't going to do anything...it was all show. All show until Alex made the first move.
"Exterminated? Haven't you tried that all ready? And failed. Miserably. You wont get rid of us leech. We'll always be here and the split second that you put your guard down, you'll be dead...for good."
He watched at the vampire seemed to be getting closer and closer to the edge. Kaiden had to be ready, while he was confident that he could take the vampire on, he still had to keep himself on his toes.

He heard Kaiden's words and they only irritated him more. He glared at him as he said that the wolves were going to kill them. Those were almost the exact words the wolf who had killed his children had said to them. They had thought that their children were eternal children. Vampire children. Alexander ripped that wolf's heart out of his chest. Right now he was tempted to do the same with Kaiden.
"You filthy parasite!"
Alexander couldn't hold back any longer. He knew he was going to get hell for this but right now he didn't care. His buttons had been pushed and he was angry. He lunged at Kaiden with his fangs bared. He would teach this dog a lesson.

Parasite? Who was the real parasite here? Kaiden growled as he braced himself for the attack from the vampire before him. This was going to be bad...politically. As long as neither one of them died, they could probably smooth it over. But how can they possibly co-exist to whatever extent without this happening once or twice.
He was a little unprepared for how hard the vampire would hit him. That was always the case, vampires looked wimpy but they hit like a frieght truck. Kaiden dug his feet into the ground as they pushed backward a few feet.
He reeled his arm back then forward again to send a punch towards Alex's gut. His eyes were glowing yellow now, but Kaiden was holding back. He couldn't transform, not this close to the houses. And if the pack found out then they'd come running. No, this was just between them.

Alexander felt the wolf's fist hit his gut. It stung a little but he only laughed. There was no way this wolf was going to beat him in his wimpy human form. He would have to transform if he wanted to win. Alexander was old and with that he was strong. He had experience fighting werewolves and he knew how to take them down.
Alexander hit him as hard as he could and another growl resonated from his throat. He pulled his fist back and sent it towards Kaiden's face. He knew he would smile when he heard bone crunching underneath his fist. The moon wasn't even close to being full yet so he figured this wolf wasn't at full strength yet. That didn't matter he was still a pest who needed to be taught a lesson. He already knew he was going to hold back from killing him...today. He didn't need the political aspects of killing an Alpha on his hands right now. Miranda would never forgive me. So for now he just stuck with beating the pulp out of him.

One howl, one howl was all that he needed to get his pack rialed up and by his side. But the pack ganging up on an elder, with no witness to who really started the fight? It'd be suicide. The least that would happen would that they would get kicked out of the community. The worst, they'd all get hunted down by vampires one by one. Kaiden grunted and growled with each blow he ended up taking. That punch to the face had left him seeing stars.
He stumbled a few steps back as he already felt his face swelling and unswelling. The vampire was strong but Kaiden had rapid healing on his side...at least until it would be too much. Did he really just resign himself to lose this fight? Damnit all...he'd never hear the end of it. Perhaps if he was a few years younger he wouldn't have cared what would have happened to his pack after this fight. He would have just transformed and clawed the corpse to pieces. But he couldn't get the thought of his pack out of his mind.
Kaiden moved forward again, swinging punches at him wildly but with skill. He wasn't a professional boxer by any means but he knew some moves. And while his brash nature might have left him open, it was unpredictable. When Alexander thought he had a good zone of attack, Kaiden turned and sent a punch straight to his ribs with full force. Cockiness left you vulnerable...and that went for both sides.

Alexander took the hits. They hardly hurt him but they irritated him more. It would have been different if this wolf was in full form. It would have hurt worse and Alexander would have been smart enough to not fight in such close proximity. He would have stayed far back from the claws and the teeth. One mistake and he knew a werewolf could have your throat in his jaws crushing it until you stopped breathing.
He grunted as he felt the hit to the ribs. Now that one hurt. This werewolf was getting more confident and cocky. Throwing hits around and leaving himself open for attack. Yes, Alexander was cocky as well but he was a smart fighter. He knew better than to leave himself so open. But he was prone to make mistakes. He had made many in his lifetime. As he felt the wolf's fist hit his rips Alexander reached out and grabbed his wrist making sure he didn't get away. His other hand grabbed his head and soon his teeth were sunk into his throat. It wasn't a deadly bite but it was enough.
