(A bit of a late post but that's life for you) Kaiden couldn't take much more. The moon was as full as it was going to get and he was still stuck inside. It was still daylight but the sun was well on its way to setting. He had spent his whole day pacing his living room like a tiger in a cage. But it wouldn't be too much longer before he could get the animal that was tearing around within him free once more.
He had already been restless before and it was just getting worse. Tonight they would run with or without the perimeter. Certainly his pack only felt worse than he did himself. Once the sun was past the horizon he finally left his home through the back door. He picked a house next to the wood for this very reason. He'd walk through his backyard and past the wood treeline to await his pack. Once they were all gathered they would turn and hunt. He couldn't wait to feel the life of another creature dwindle between his jaws. Ngh...he had promised the hunt to Keertana hadn't he? She would have to wait, if he didn't kill that deer tonight then he would only end up taking his beastial rage out on her later.

Keertana had stayed inside all day. She had been worried that she wouldn't be able to stay in her human form for much longer. Tonight was the night that they would turn and run and hunt as a pack and feed as a pack. they would let their wildness run free without the restraints of human flesh. The past couple weeks she had just wanted to rip her flesh away just to feel the fur she knew was hiding somewhere underneath. She looked outside and saw it was now dark. She threw on a pair of shorts and a tank top and left her house walking towards the woods.
Her senses were heightened and her skin tingled with the anticipation. She looked up at the sky and watched the last few rays of the sunlight fade behind the horizon. She was so happy to see them go and excited beyond measure to finally see the full moon rising in the sky. The brunette woman neared the woods and her nose picked up the scent of the other wolves in the pack approaching. Her eyes fell on Kaiden and she smiled. Tonight was the night that it was official that they were a mated pair. She neared him and smiled.
"You ready?"

Kaiden almost snarled at her as she asked if he was ready. Of course he was ready. But he realized that she probably wasn't referring to just the run. Luckily he had managed to keep his emotions in check. He had left his house in nothing more than an old pair of jeans which left the firm muscles of his chest out on display. The other pack females eyes strayed to him naturally, but his eyes only searched for and finally found Keertana as she approached him.
"I know I promised the hunt to you." His words were stoic and emotionless, it was obvious he was fighting with the animal in him. Even now his eyes started to turn into an eerie yellow color as he glanced to the others of the pack that were starting to gather around them. "But we will lead it together, and I will make the kill." His muscles even tensed as he mentioned the kill, he needed it and he wasn't going to take any objections on the matter. The next moon would be here soon enough and she would have her chance again.
Their conversation seemed for the moment rather innocent. Nothing unusual for an Alpha and Beta to be discussing, but he knew soon that there would be unrest in the pack once they were officially mated. He didn't care; Keertana would just have to prove herself to them and the pack would settle soon enough.

Keertana saw the change of his eyes and she knew hers were probably doing the same thing right now. The moment was so close she could taste it. She could already taste the blood on her tongue from the kill. She wasn't at all surprised when Kaiden said he was to make the kill. She had expected as much. The past few weeks he had been restless. After had had healed completely they had spent as much time together as possible but she could see him itching to let the beast free.
"I understand. you need this more than I do. I'll have what I want tonight. You can have this."
She would have what she wanted tonight. After the kill they would go off on their own and come back as official mates. She wasn't so sure the pack out like it, especially the other females, but she didn't care. She wanted Kaiden as her mate and she was going to get what she wanted. If she had to fight for him she would. If she was challenged she would hold her ground and fight until she came out on top.
She looked around at the other who had gathered. She smiled at a few and some of the females gave her a curious look. They were probably wondering what they were talking about but as far as they were concerned it was a conversation between a Beta and Alpha and not a soon to be mated pair. Her skin rippled as she waited for Kaiden.

He took one long look at Keertana, almost as if he seemed to know he'd never see her again. Perhaps it was the negative side of him preparing himself for something to go incredibly wrong. But that look turned into a faint smile before he would turn from her to address the rest of the pack.
"My brothers and sisters. I know you have all been waiting patiently...and as your Alpha I am proud of the restraint we have all made in this long awaited night." His eyes looked to each member of he pack for a moment before he continued his little speech. "Tonight we will make this forest tremble with the thunder of our paws." A wicked smirk crossed his lips for a moment, "And let us hope that no one is foolish enough to cross our paths tonight." A part of him wished there would be someone just stupid enough to run into the pack while they were on their little animalistic frenzy. None of them would really be in control of their actions considering how long they had to wait for this night. But without the perimeter there was no one around to keep the locals at bay. He knew he didn't have to warn the pack to stay close together. After the hunt they would split apart but tonight would be dangerous and complete privacy was not something that could be afforded. The human side of him just hoped nothing would go wrong.
It was then that he finally let his body relax. The final and complete relaxation of his mind and body gave way to the grinding pain of his body shifting and turning. It hurt more than usual but with how long it had been since he changed it really didn't surprise him. His transformation would trigger the rest of the pack, and soon enough he was rushing out into the wood on all four black paws.

Keertana listened to his words and she flexed her hands, stretching her fingers then turning them to fists again and again. She just wanted to run. His words made the wolf inside her claw at the walls even more furiously. It was so close. The wolf prayed that there was someone stupid enough to venture into the woods tonight. She wanted that extra special hunt but the human side of her didn't. The human side of her prayed that there wouldn't be someone stupid enough to do it.
She watched as Kaiden turned into the beautiful and strong black wolf. Her eyes lit up with a fire and soon the change was upon her. She groaned as she felt her bones breaking and forming into those of a wolf. The pain ran over her but she welcomed it. It had been so long since she had felt that pain. Her ivory colored skin was soon replaced with a beautiful, pure white pelt. Her arms shortened and became legs. Her knees turned and a tail grew out of her spine.
She yipped and bolted forward as the change became complete. The wind ran through her fur as she ran. She soon caught up with Kaiden and she ran beside him falling a little ways back so he could lead. Her head was level with his shoulder. She looked over at him with a toothy grin. She could hear the others joining them behind her. Her nose lifted to the air trying to find the scent of something they could hunt. Her heart soaring with the joy of the run.

Kaiden ran and ran. While Keertana was actually looking for something to hunt, Kaiden was just running. He needed to get the initial irritation and fury out of him before he even thought about hunting. At least then he would be able to recognize a deer or some other creature..possibly a human from each other.
Once he felt sufficiently calm he slowed down his run to more of a walk. He glanced around to ensure that the pack was still gathered together before he sniffed around for their meal for the evening.
It took a little while of sniffing and part sadness in the idea that they just might not find a meal tonight before they hit the jackpot. A nice large elk was happily grazing upon a tree not too far from them. Kaiden made a few gestures to move the pack around the beast before he would position himself in for the kill.

The smaller white wolf ran alongside the black Alpha as they ran. She was happy to be running again and she could tell that Kaiden was just working off some frustration right now. She followed him though. She would follow him anywhere. Her nose was still picking up the scents of everything around them. She had a very good nose and she knew how to use it well. She was an excellent tracker.
She was in fear that they wouldn't find anything to hunt tonight when she saw Kaiden stop. She followed the scent that soon lingered in her nose and her yellow eyes fell onto a large elk. She licked her muzzle in anticipation. Her hair stood on end in excitement. She knew this was going to be their meal tonight and she couldn't be happier. She suddenly recalled the elk she had taken out when she had gone into the mountains a couple weeks ago. They were her favorite animal to hunt.
She watched as Kaiden moved the pack around the giant animal and she followed suit. She positioned herself on the side but still close to Kaiden in case he needed any help which she was sure he didn't. This was his kill tonight and he needed no help. If the pack wasn't there she knew he could still take down the large bull with no problem. And it was a large bull. It's rack was ten by eleven and it's outside spread was a good fifty-five inches. She waited for Kaiden to make his move as she crouched down low ready to lunge at the animal.

Once everyone was in position he waited. He wanted just the right opportunity to strike. He'd take a few steps forward, just enough to get the Elk to be aware of him. That was the cue for the others to take chase at the end of the creature. Once he was at a full run Kaiden moved around ahead of the pack and the elk. They'd curve the creature around and before the poor animal knew it. Kaiden was right infront of him.
He took a few sprinting runs next to the creature before he leapt and large jaws sank into the elk's neck. Being larger than a normal wolf it was easier to bring his head down and give the pack enough time to help take the beast off of his legs. Kaiden's grip would never slip as he kept his teeth sealed into the beast's neck. His claws dug into the ground while he still thrashed in vain attempts to get free. Even if he did manage to get away from Kaiden the elk would still die from the wound. But Kaiden was patient enough as he tasted the blood that filled his mouth.

Keertana saw the cue and she ran at the elk along with the others. She nipped at his heels as a deep growl emanated from her throat. She had been waiting for this night and now the animal was taking over her body. She chased with the other and her eyes scanned for Kaiden who appeared in front of the beast. Her eyes followed him as she lunged and locked his jaws around the throat. Her nose picked up the scent of blood as she watched the large animal fall to the ground.
Keertana was on the beast along with the other pack members. She watched Kaiden as he held onto the elk's throat. He wouldn't let go until the elk was dead. His jaws were locked on. She backed away from the elk's sharp hooves as he tried to get back up. Those things could gut a wolf if they got too close. She stayed clear of the prongs of the antlers as well. After a couple of minutes she heard a satisfying gurgle and the last of the elk's air leave its lungs and it fell limp. She wagged her tail a couple times then looked to Kaiden.

Even as the elk died before him his teeth remained in that neck. Part of him just wanted to rip it to pieces but he was still heaving from the exursion needed to keep ahold of the strong beast. When he finally let go of his hold on the neck he seemed to ignore the rest of them. It was his right to eat first and he was going to take it.
Feral teeth ripped into the side of the animal and started to feast on the flesh inside. The organs being the best part of the meal were the first that he feasted upon. And it wasn't until he had his fill that he'd let anyone come near that creature...if they dared to come close that is.
Once he had his fill he took a few steps back...a slight snarl given to the others while he left the elk to Keertana to feed from. It wouldn't be until her head was in the depths of the large animal that she would be able to realize that he left something intentionally for her. The heart.

The white wolf watched as Kaiden released the throat of the elk. his muzzle was covered in blood and she knew well enough to stay away from him until he had eaten. The alpha was the one to eat first, then the beta, then the pups, then down the ranks it went and Keertana was meant to keep an eye on them so there were no fights. She was to make sure that everyone got something to eat. It was the Beta's job when there was no alpha female but soon she would be the alpha female.
Keertana watched him eat his fill and then walk away with a snarl on his lips. Her eyes followed him for a second noting which direction he was going but she knew when she needed to find him she could just follow his scent. She trotted up to the elk and growled and snapped at a few females who were too bold and tried to eat before her. They backed up immediately but still lingered waiting for their moment or for Keertana to show a weak moment. She drove her muzzle into the elk to eat. She pulled back a bit and stared at the heart of the animal then shot a glance towards where Kaiden had disappeared. He had left it for her. Usually that was only saved for an alpha and it was the first thing to be eaten. She smiled a wolfish grin and then started eating again. once she was full she stepped back and let everyone have their fill.
With stomachs full everyone started to drift off into small groups or by themselves. Keertana trotted through the group and made sure that everyone was fine before she lifted her nose and picked up Kaiden's scent. She trotted off towards it and soon found him. The white wolf walked up to him and licked under his chin in a sign of respect before she nuzzled him.

He had left the pack without much of a second thought. He knew once they all ate they would be sated in both bloodlust and energy. Certainly things would calm down for all of them.
She'd find him laying on his side, attempting to digest the meal that he had just injested in a matter of moments. He barely even noticed she came into his little secluded area until she was licking and nuzzling him. He offered a soft grunt to her before he gave a returning lick back to her. He'd have to get up and be at his best, no matter how lazy he felt..after all there was still a possibility of challengest coming towards either one of them. He wouldn't doubt if another male had his eyes on Keertana, but would they dare challenge him? After all a challenge for Keertana could still be considered a challenge for the rank of Alpha as well.
Kaiden pushed himself up to his four feet again. He'd move his large head towards her neck, nuzzling at her neck and inhaling her scent. It would be a smell that would mingle with his own from now on. Meanwhile his other senses were on alert, just incase they would be interupted.

The white wolf was smaller in size to him. As he stood up he towered over her. She may have been smaller but she was faster because of it. Her body was lean and riddled with muscles underneath the pure white fur that was spotted with blood from the elk. She would have to run in the creek to remove it later. But right now she was with Kaiden and this was the moment that she wanted, that she had been waiting for. The moon was full in the sky and shone it's light down on them. Her fur ripple as she felt him nuzzling her neck.
She wasn't stupid as she stood there seeming to be oblivious to everything except Kaiden. She still had her ears and nose on look out for anyone approaching them. If someone was to challenge them this would be the time to do it. She had been worried about other females in the pack stepping up and challenging her for the right to be Kaiden's mate. She would be ready for them though and she would fight for the right to be his mate if she had to.
At the same time she couldn't think of anyone who would challenge Kaiden for the right to be her mate. She had never given anyone a reason to. But who knew? There could be someone in the pack who was pursuing her she just never realized it. Keertana let out a low whine as he nuzzled her. His scent filled her nose and made her dizzy. Her wolf took over and started nudging him and licking him. She turned and walked to a small bramble of bushes stopping just before she entered to look back at him to see if he would follow her. The brambles would sort of protect them from anyone trying to stop them from being mates. Nothing could stop Keertana though. He was hers.
