Kaiden chuckled to the thought of her fighting to keep the right to be his mate. It wasn't her winning or losing that made him laugh, it was the fact that she was fighting for him now and not against him.
"Come 'ere." This was going to hurt but he didn't care. He pulled her towards him, urging her to lay down with him on that very couch. There wasn't much room but he didn't want her to leave either, even if it was to sleep. She could lay her head on his shoulder and he'd be comfortable enough. He could suffer a little pain as long as she was there with him.
"Get some sleep, Keertana." He wasn't so sure if he would get much sleep but seeing her sleeping next to him would be enough to keep himself in a calmed state. Perhaps he would fall asleep at some point, but until he did he would watch her quietly.

She smiled at him as he chuckled. It was nice seeing him feeling a little bit better. He then pulled her down to lay next to him. She didn't want to in fear of hurting him more but she just couldn't say no to him. She wanted to be close to him more than anything. She wanted to fall asleep next to him. he cuddled close to him but was careful of his wounds, trying not to touch them or cause him too much pain. She laid her head on his shoulder and took his scent in.
"Just let me know if I'm hurting you. I can always sleep in my bed tonight..."
Keertana didn't want to sleep in her bed though unless he was with her. But he wouldn't be able to move much until the herbs and his healing factor kicked in which probably wouldn't be until tomorrow. His smaller wounds had already healed over so that was a good sign. She closed her eyes as she started to drift off to sleep. An image of her father smiling down on her was in her mind. She knew her family would be proud of her.

Kaiden didn't say anything as she offered to go sleep in her bed. She wasn't going to go anywhere if he had anything to say about it. She was lucky that he'd allow her out of his sight. But then again he was feeling a little protective right now. His condition wasn't helping the matter either.
Eventually he did indeed fall asleep. He needed to and his healing increased with that rest rather dramatically. The fight wasn't really that bad, but the bite had set him back a bit. Damned vampires...
The next morning he let out a little groan before he finally opened his eyes. It seemed that they hadn't moved too much, which was probably a good thing. He smiled as he saw Keertana pressed against him still. Kaiden shifted his body slightly, testing any soreness within his body. His ribs still hurt but it seemed that a lot of his bruising had cleared up, the only really raw wound was that irritating bite to his neck.

Keertana has been dreaming about her childhood. Running barefoot through the grass surrounding her reservation. Her mother was making a clay vase. Keertana had ran up to her watching her work. The vase had two spouts on it. She had never seen anything like it before. Curiously she had asked what it was for. Her mother had smiled and said that it was a Wedding Vase. The bride and Groom both drank from it at the end of the wedding symbolizing their union together. She was making it for Keertana to use one day at her own wedding. Keertana had smiled and just ran back to playing.
She opened her eyes as she felt Kaiden stir. She had her body pressed against him and she liked his warmth, the feel of his skin. She smiled and looked up at him. It seemed like a lot of his wounds had heeled already. The bite on his neck was still there but that would take at least another day or so to heal. Vampire bites were nasty things to a werewolf. Keertana sat up slowly and stretched her back out. It was a little sore from sleeping on the couch but she didn't care one bit. She was happier than she could ever remember being. She leaned down and kissed Kaiden good morning. As she pulled back she brush her thumb over his cheek.
"Hungry?"

"Famished" Kaiden smirked to her with that usual charm of his. He watched her quietly then. She was just as beautiful waking up as she had been sleeping before he too slept.
Yes this was the one. The one he was meant to be with. He knew it in his heart even before he practically demanded for her to be his mate. She probably didn't see it that way but it seemed like that to him. It really didn't matter anymore. He was content with the thought of not having to roam around like a bachelor anymore. Sure it was just his nature to tease women, that would probably never change but he would remain loyal. There was no question to the loyalty she had from him, he only hoped she wouldn't question it either.
And as soon as he could move better perhaps he would find a better way to prove it to her.

Keertana smiled down at him and stood up. She pulled her hair out of the messy bun and combed through it with her hands as she walked over to the kitchen. Her home was an open floor plan so she could still be seen as she started to cook them breakfast. Pancakes, eggs, and bacon.
She looked up and smiled at Kaiden. She was so happy right now. She had finally found the one she was meant to be with, thank the moon. She had almost given up hope in finding anyone. She figured no one would want a broken wolf. But Kaiden didn't see her like that. She could tell by how he looked at her. They were meant to be together and she only wished her mother and father were here to witness this and be apart of it.
She finished cooking and walked back over to the couch with the plates as well as two glasses of orange juice. She sat down on the couch with Kaiden. It felt so right. Like she belonged. her eyes strayed up to the mantle where in the middle was the wedding vase her mother had made for her. On either side was a picture of her, her mother, and her father. And on the other side was a picture of her old pack. Those were the most important things she had saved from the fire.

Kaiden stared at the food infront of him. He moved so he could sit upright, at least as much as was possible. He took the plate from her and looked the food over again. "Quite the breakfast.." He hasn't expected pancakes, eggs and bacon. But he did welcome it. "Thank you." Those words were spoken just before he started to practically enhale his breakfast. He felt like he was starving, his body needed the meal to help heal his wounds.
He knew he would be fine after another day but he still had to take it a little easy. He should be able to walk today without too much trouble. He would just have to make sure that he did not gain any attention that may lead to some sort of challenge. In his weakened state he would be at a disadvantage.
"This is, very good." He smiled to her, it seemed he got lucky that his mate was a good cook.

"Thank you. I figured you'd be starving so I went all out. You need your strength anyways. Maybe you should stay here today just in case. I don't want anything else to happen to you."
She started to eat her own breakfast. She didn't have as much food as Kaiden. She wasn't really that hungry at the moment. She lifted the glass to her mouth and sipped at her orange juice. It really wasn't a good idea for him to be walking about in his weakened state. Someone could get the bright idea to challenge him and she didn't want that. He was a good Alpha. He was the one who was meant to run the pack and she was going to make sure it stayed that way. If she had to she would protect him with her life.
Once her food was finished she sat the plate on the table in front of her and leaned back on the couch. Her hand rested on his knee. She just liked being close to him. She still couldn't believe that she had a mate now. It was weird but it felt right and familiar all at the same time. She had pictured this so many times but she never thought that it would happen. She watched Kaiden eating his food. He would have to get used to being well fed. She loved to cook.

He continued to eat like he hadn't had a meal in weeks. But as she mentioned that she should stay so she could keep an eye on him...that didn't sit very well with him. He frowned slightly in her direction as he tried to think of a more diplomatic way of saying what was on his mind. He appreciated her caring and did indeed want her to care about him, but making him stay on her couch was pushing it a little.
"The quicker I get on my feet the better I will be." That would have to work. He moved his legs about so he could stand up with is plate in hand. He did his best not to flinch in the pain he felt in his ribs. It wasn't enough to keep him on the couch, he could walk off this pain easily enough. His stubborness and will would see to that as well.
Kaiden reached down and grabbed her plate from the table and then headed over to the kitchen to place them into the sink.

"I didn't mean on the couch. I meant here with me, Kaiden. What if someone tries to challenge you?"
Keertana watched him stand up from the couch and take their plates to the kitchen. He was strong. Stronger than she was. She would still be on the couch for another day if she had received those injuries. But he was stubborn as well. She knew that and she watched the slight flinch as he stood up. He was still hurt. If someone got the bright idea to challenge him for Alpha right now he would lose or even die. She couldn't deal with that. She had just gotten him in her life and she had lost so many other people she cared about. She was not about to lose him either.
Keertana stood up and walked to the kitchen. She jumped up on the counter top and just looked at him. Of course she would end up with someone who was just as stubborn as she was. Guess it was her payback from her father.
"You need more rest. You don't have to sit on the couch all day but you still need to rest. I don't want to lose you."

"Let them challenge me." He snarled slightly. It was more of his pride speaking now even though he did understand what she meant. In all actuality if she hadn't been there, he would be holding himself in his house until he got better as well. It was just harder to 'hide out' with someone else. Especially when that person should be someone that he protects, not the other way around.
He listened to her words when she perched herself onto the counter. He knew she was right, but he wouldn't back down from a fight. Perhaps that was all he was trying to get across. Even in his current state he'd fight tooth and nail for something he believed in or needed to protect. He looked over to her for a moment, and gave into a bit of a smirk. "You'd have to do a lot to lose me, Dragoste" He wasn't so sure why he just called her that, but the word just came to him. It was the Romanian word for love, and it seemed to fit her. At least he thought so.

"Dragoste? What does that mean?"
He had called her Dragoste. She had never heard of that word before and she was curious as to what it meant. She liked it. A lot actually. But she more so liked that fact that he gave her a nickname. It was something special they could both share. Keertana reached out and took hi hand and pulled him over to her where she wrapped her arms around his waist being very gentle so she didn't hurt his ribs. She knew they were still broken so she stayed from away from them.
"I've lost too many people in my life. I don't think I could handle losing you. But if any one challenged you in this state I would rip them to pieces before they could even get to you."
She knew she would. She was a fighter and she would fight for him. She would protect him when he couldn't protect her. She would take care of him and give him anything he wanted but she wouldn't let him leave when he was vulnerable.

Kaiden moved over to her as she pulled him to her. He was still feeling a little tense at the thought of him being vulnerable at the moment but he knew that she knew better. He smirked as she asked what that word had meant. "It means love...in Romanian."That smirk remained as she continued to speak. He was grateful for her attitude and determination but he doubted that he could allow her to fight infront of him. Perhaps at his side but definitely not in his stead. He would have to be dead or nearly so for him to allow that to happen. "You wont lose me. If you would have lost me it would have been tonight, before you even had me." He smiled to her and brushed his fingers across her cheek gently.
Kaiden wondered how she would react to that but it was a truth. It seemed that it was this harsh injury that had brought them together, so he highly doubted it could get any worse.

Keertana smiled up at him. Love. He called her love. It felt so right, like it was her second name. But why Romanian she wondered. It was an odd language to pick a word from but it fit her in a way. Keertana only knew one other language and that was Cherokee. It was a tough language to get the hang of but she had been raised around it so it was easy to her.
He was right though. She could have lost him tonight before he was even her's to lose. His wounds had been almost life threatening. Thank god for her mother and grandmother teaching her the different herbs to use for healing. If she hadn't of known that he probably would be dead right now. She felt his fingers brush across her cheek and she closed her eyes and leaned into his hand a bit just enjoying the slight touch. Her brown eyes opened again and looked into his.
"Ayv tsigeyui nihi, Gvgeyu." (I love you, Love)

It wasn't like Kaiden really knew Romanian. He picked up a few words of several languages here and there. It wasn't unusual for him to travel. Though it seemed nowadays he was pretty much stuck here. Not that he cared, he had a pack to take care of after all. The days of him being a rogue and wandering the streets was over. And now it seemed he was settling into place even more. He could only imagine how life was going to change now that he finally chose his mate. Things would be interesting that was for sure.
Kaiden smirked to her, "And what does that mean?" Unfortunately Cherokee was not one of the languages he was familiar with. Not that he would call himself familiar with any other than English. He assumed that she had said something similiar to what he had said but he thought he'd ask anyway. And there was always the possibility that she would think that he didn't care if he hadn't asked anyway.
