The sun shown through the window of her bedroom and fell onto her face. The Cherokee woman shielded her eyes from the sunlight and rolled over in bed. The down comforter was soon over her head as she tried to go back to sleep. A groan was heard from underneath the comforter as the alarm went off. Why she insisted on waking up at a certain time each day was beyond her. But she was soon rolling out of bed yawning and walking to the bathroom and into the shower. She let the hot water run over her naturally tanned skin. She washed her self and then dried her long brown hair and got dressed in a pair of jean shorts and a black tank top as she walked out of her room.
A quick breakfast was down in her stomach as she grabbed the keys to her car and walked outside and into her front yard. It was a warm day in the neighborhood. She clicked the button to open her garage and dragged the hose out. her car needed to be washed and she had been putting it off for awhile now.
She grabbed the radio that was in her garage and turned the music on as she filled a bucket up with water and suds. The sponge was in her hand as she leaned over and started to wash the dirt away from the exterior of her car.

Kaiden needed to get some exercise, something to get his mind off of things. Unfortunately due to the rules he couldn't allow himself to run through the community the way he wanted to. He wanted to run on all four paws and feel the wind rushing through his fur. Rules were rules though. If the Alpha broke them then his pack was free to do so as well. No, they had to keep a low profile. Even though there were plenty of other walks of life that knew he was a werewolf, there were also plenty of humans that didn't know that the supernatural really existed.
It wasn't long on his run that he found himself in a familiar area. He smelled a few faint scents of the members of his pack. He knew exactly which houses they all lived in of course. The further he jogged he managed to actually find one out and about. Keertana...
Since he was in a more chipper mood thanks to the minor run he decided to jog over to her and her own duty of washing her car. There was always something way too hot about a beautiful woman washing a car...now if only it was a hot sports car. Kaiden couldn't help the smirk on his lips as he walked up and folded his arms over his chest. "Nice day isn't it?"
The tall man had worn only a pair of sweats and a tank top on his little trip. It really left nothing to the imagination when it came to the muscles of his torso.

Her head bobbed to the music that was playing as her lips formed the words in silence. She could feel the sun warming her skin and she silently wished that it was warming her fur instead. She had been wanting to go running in her wolf form for the past three weeks but had never found time to go out to the national park that was near by and actually be able to fun. She was too tense because of it.
Her nose lifted to the air as she caught the scent of Kaiden, the alpha, not too far away. She turned as she heard his voice and she couldn't help her eyes going over him. His muscles were showing through his tank top and she couldn't help but admire them but she tried to not make it obvious. She wrung the sponge out into the bucket and continued to wash her car as her eyes flicked to him again.
"Hello, Kaiden. Out for a run?"

"As much of one as I can get for the time being." He was planning on having the pack out on a run, they just had to wait. And they had to wait for the local police to figure out a time to make sure no one got in the way. It would be safer for all involved if no one was allowed in the woods while they were running. The chief didn't want to deal with murder investigations, and he didn't blame him.
Kaiden's eyes couldn't help but to wander and look poor Keertana over like a piece of meat. He really could help the way his eyes leered, he was used to looking at all the females of his pack like that. Of course, others liked it more...mainly because they wanted the open position. So many of them prayed and clawed at the chance to become the Alpha's mate. Kaiden was stubborn though and honeslty, no one has impressed him enough. That didn't stop him from sowing those wild oats though. If they wanted it so bad, they could have it. They just couldn't keep it. "I can't imagine washing your car is suitable enough...exercise." His dark brown eyes glanced away from her now to look about the neighborhood in a somewhat wary manner. It was habit really.

"Well, what do you expect me to do? Can't exactly get the right amount of exercise while I'm stuck behind these gates."
Keertana didn't mean to be so sharp about her remark but her body was tense ad her emotions were wired from not being able to be free. She felt like she was stuck in a cage while she was here for too long. It had been awhile since the pack had gone out for a run together. She needed an escape and soon. She knew that they would go soon but she didn't know if she could wait much longer.
She looked over and saw him checking her out. She rolled her eyes at him. He was always doing that. It seemed like he treated everyone woman in the pack like a piece of meat. He hadn't picked a mate yet and it didn't look like he was going to anytime soon. This pack was nothing like the pack that she had grown up in. In her old pack everything was about ritual. Even when they changed. her father had been the alpha so she had learned a lot from him. Some would even say that she had the attitude of an alpha. But she wasn't stupid to challenge Kaiden for the position and truth be told she didn't want it.

"Sure you can." He couldn't help but grin to the answer he gave her. He noticed the rolling of her eyes and it only amused him more. Frankly he thought that it was more entertaining to see how many times she could reject him in one encounter. It was strange that she'd even do that, but entertaining nonetheless.
In what seemed like a moment he was right behind her, pressing his hardened body down against hers while she was leaned over the car. "I'm sure I can find a way to wear you out." Then he growled softly in her ear to further suggest what he was getting at to her. He knew she would squirm away from him somehow it was just a matter of how. And he really wanted to see how she would do it this time.
Though Kaiden was rather shameless when it came to flirting with the pack's females; he still knew when to stop. He'd push her buttons to the breaking point and then simply walk away. He didn't want to cause problems with his pack, he just liked to play games. He was always there to break up any fights that got out of hand from his antics.

In a moment she felt his body behind her and pressed against her. Her body was forced down onto the hood of her car and was soon soaked from the water that was already on her car. She felt his mouth close to her ear and the growl the emanated from his throat. For a second the animal inside her wanted to react to him the way he wanted. It wanted that primal encounter between the wolves. But Keertana didn't. She felt his muscles and she knew she couldn't just push him off of her. He was too strong for that. He would over power her in a matter of seconds.
All she did was turn around to face him. Her eyes looking at him and a smirk was on her lips as she leaned in closer to him. Their lips almost touching as she let him take in her scent. She would continue to shut him down but she liked to tease him as well. The other females in the pack couldn't understand why she kept shutting him down. They did everything in their power to get him to choose one of them as his mate but Keertana didn't.
"Oh you think so?"
She whispered to him in a sultry tone as she kept the distance between then almost nonexistent. She then slipped out from underneath him and back to the bucket of soapy water. Her clothes were soaked but she didn't seem to notice. She just smiled a taunting and stubborn smile at him.
"Kaiden, I don't think you could handle me even on your good days."

Kaiden smirked as she sliped out from under him and wandered over to that bucket. He had to admit her smell was rather intoxicating. There was something about it, perhaps it was the pure nature in her blood that made it so enticing. But it didn't take long for the intensity of her scent to dissapear as she left him. "Wait..what? Good days?" He arched a brow at her and frowned slightly. "Are you suggesting I have bad ones?"
He knew she wasn't challenging him, that wasn't her style. If she really wanted to challenge him she would have been upfront about it. She was playing with him but he wasn't so sure he liked this game. As an Alpha he was fairly level headed but he still didn't like taking jabs at his pride either. He had no qualms in proving that he was strong enough to do...anything. More than one he's had to settle the fires between his pack and the vampires in the area. Granted he wanted to rip out the throats of those blood suckers too, but it wasn't a smart idea. Maybe one day, one day they'd step out of line and not even the police would be able to stop the pack's wrath. Time would only tell on that though...

She smiled at him as she saw him get slightly agitated on how she poked at his pride. She knew he hated it but she kept on doing it. She knew just how far to push him before she knew when to stop. She crossed her arms and leaned on her hip as she looked over the slightly agitated alpha who stood in front of her.
"Oh I would never do that, Mr. Alpha."
The sarcastic tone in her voice was obvious but she covered it with a smile to let him know that she wasn't being serious. She knew it would be a stupid idea to even think of challenging him. But the animal inside her was jumping right now. His scent was still on her and was still drifting to her nose from his body that wasn't too far from him. The animal wanted him but she held back. She pushed down the lusted growl that wanted to break free and give him the permission to take her. She turned away from him acting like she was reaching into the bucket again for the sponge.

Hmph. The woman had guts, he had to give her that. None of the other females spoke to him like that. Even the ones that were married didn't speak to him like that. But she was good about dancing on that line. It was just enough to push his buttons but not enough for him to see it as enough of a threat that he needed to put her into her place. And how he wanted to put her into her place... His mind wandered as he watched her bend over that bucket.
One of these days Kaiden, she'll drop her guard and then there wouldn't be any stopping him. Though with the way she gave off those slight hints of the beast inside of her. He could feel the feral energy practically vibrating off of her. Perhaps his best chance would be the night of their run. Especially with how cooped up they had been lately. The only problem would be the other available females. Besides the ceremonial hunt, the women would always stick close to him on runs, hoping that that night would be the one he'd finally decide on a mate. The disappointed look in their eyes entertained him really.
Kaiden stayed silent for a long while until she had turned back around and started washing the car again. "You want to lead the hunt when we run next?" It was a serious question. While he led the run, the wolf that lead the hunt was the one that scouted ahead and flushed out their prey towards the pack. He only allowed people he trusted to lead the hunt, after all it would be easy for a wolf to get themselves into trouble if they ran into something unexpected...like a hunter.

Keertana stopped washing the car in front of her as she heard his question. Did she want to lead the hunt? Now that surprised her. He had never asked her that before and usually he was the one who led the hunt. A lot of wolves had messed up before when the last Alpha was in charge of them. He had made some poor decisions on who led the hunt in the past.
As she thought about it she couldn't help think of the first time her father had let her lead the hunt in her old pack. She had only been thirteen years old. He had been taking her out every night and teaching her how to stalk the pray and how to watch for hunters. It was one of her most fond memories the night she had found a stag and chased it towards the waiting pack. Her father had been so proud of her and had even let her eat the heart. Something that was normally saved for the Alpha and the Alpha lone. She could still taste the meat and blood on her muzzle. She looked over at him.
"Why me?"

Kaiden stared at her for a moment. Was she really doubting herself? Now of all times? Maybe he was wrong...
"You don't have to if you don't feel up to it Keertana." Okay so that was a little harsh on purpose. He knew from previous runs and what knowledge he found out from the other packmates that this prospect wasn't all too far fetched of an idea. But Kaiden did speak in a manner that hinted toward if she didn't accept then he'd never offer again. With the spirit and fire she had in her normally, he wanted to see the real animal in her. What could he say? He was curious.
He watched her silently then, watching the subtle body language she let slip while she thought of what he asked of her. He could easily lead the hunt himself and he actually prefered it, but that wasn't going to show him anything.

"No. I want to. It's just...the last time I led a hunt...was the night before my whole family was killed."
It really had been. After her first successful hunt her father had let her lead a lot of them after it. He had been training her to become the Alpha after he stepped down. He had named her his second. She had been a Beta at only seventeen. She had been very successful in her hunts. She smiled slightly at the thought of those hunts and her days on the reservation.
Keertana looked at Kaiden. She hadn't thought that he would offer this to her. He didn't even know her history. No one here really knew her history or that she had been a Beta and the daughter of an Alpha. That she was considered a Spirit Warrior. She had no idea that he trusted her this much.

Trust was a funny thing. And a good Alpha excelled at knowing who he could trust, perhaps even before they themselves knew they were worth trusting. He smirked a little as he heard that she had led a hunt before. He felt bad about the whole family dying thing...but he decided not to dwell on it. Or even apologize for her loss. He could only imagine how it felt to lose something like that all at once and he wasn't going to bring it up anymore.
"Then accept." Well if she wanted to then she had to agree. "I need your head in the game when it's time." That smirk had faded slightly to more of a smile that that smug 'I knew it' look. "Is that really the only thing that is holding you back? You have a responsibility to your pack." He was playing a bit of tough love at the moment, but he needed her to wake up a little too. As sad as losing family is, she had a new one and needed to remember that.

"Yes, of course. I would love to....thank you."
She brushed some hair out of her face leaving a little bit of soap behind. She didn't really notice at all. She was more focused on the hunt that was coming soon. She needed to get her head in the game she couldn't screw this up.
She looked at Kaiden and studied him. He was really trusting her. He didn't even really know her all that well. But she sort of understood the ways of an Alpha. She lived with one her entire life. How could she not understand them? But every Alpha was different she knew that and Kaiden was different. But how different she didn't know. She looked down at the ground for a second. She really appreciated this. He couldn't understand how much. This was the one thing that would make her feel like a true and free wolf again.
"Thank you, Kaiden."
